Copying Cases Studies
The Situation: The legal department of a major pharmaceutical manufacturer was tasked by opposing counsel to produce copies of over 2600 boxes of research documentation for a product under question. The deadline to produce was only 3 months.
The Reliable Response: Reliable committed to completing 25 boxes per day to accomplish the client’s goals. Running our normal three shifts 7 days a week, we were able to accommodate every deadline for the client, and in the end had produced 5.8 million documents for this landmark case.
The Result: The client was able to produce all documents for internal use and distribution ahead of schedule, providing more time for discovery and trial preparation. Meeting or exceeding court imposed deadlines allowed the client to avoid any potential sanctions.
Post Script: Sheer size and time constraints on this project illustrate Reliable’s ability to commit to the customer, flex labor, and maximize productivity with our best-of-breed technology solution.
The Situation: Head plaintiff in a large lawsuit needed to make copies of 6 boxes, or 25,000 pages of documents, and distribute the information to over 100 parties across the country. We had just 48 hours to produce.
The Reliable Response: Understanding time constraints, and copy and shipping costs, Reliable suggested that only a few sets of hard copies be produced for the filing and head plaintiff, and that the rest of the recipients receive the information on CDs. The judge agreed, and we were able to expedite the work by scanning the boxes once, and blowing back to paper where needed, burning to CD in every other case.
The Result: All information burned to CD was made very portable, allowing all recipients to easily transport documents to meetings or trial. Add to that savings on copy and shipping costs in excess of $75,000.
Post Script: This example is further proof that the correct application of technology by knowledgeable professionals can create hard dollar savings and great opportunities for efficiency.
